Turpin Outdoor Education Center
Located in Lincoln, the Turpin Outdoor Education Center, formerly the Nebraska Outdoor Education Center, offers an indoor firearm range and indoor and outdoor archery ranges that are open to the public five days a week. Additionally, the center offers archery and firearm classes and workshops for both youth and adults, as well as day camps, Hunter Education classes and special events. The center is available for birthday parties, corporate events and other private events, and offers two classrooms for rental.
Outdoor Heritage Education Complex
The Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Complex is a family-friendly shooting sports complex with a focus on safety and family fun located at Platte River State Park near Lousiville. This center features an archery range with a shooting tower, a 50-yard small bore rifle range, a trap range with 5 stand feature and an indoor 10-meter pellet gun range. The ranges were created with everyone in mind, regardless of size, ability or skill level.
Wildcat Hills Shooting Sports Complex
The Wildcat Hills Shooting Sports Complex is a family-friendly shooting sports education center with a focus on safety, education and fun located at Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area. The center features archery, small bore, pellet, shotgun and rifle ranges. It provides educational programming and quality instruction.
Kearney Outdoor Education Complex
The Kearney Outdoor Education Complex is a family-friendly shooting sports complex with a focus on safety and family fun located in Kearney. This 134-acre facility on 60 recreational acres features four trap fields with two overlaying skeet fields and one 5-stand range. The rentable education center is 2900-square-foot, American with Disabilities Act-accessible, offers classroom seating for up to 100 people and includes a full kitchen.
Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex
Eric Wiebe was a former conservation officer and one of the founders of the Missouri River Outdoor Expo. In 2009, Eric lost a hard fought battle with cancer. In 2010, Eric’s family donated funds to the Missouri River Outdoor Expo Board to begin a campaign to make improvements in the shooting complex at Ponca State Park. Today people of all ages enjoy the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. Visitors can participate in archery, shotgun, muzzle-loader, .22 long rifle, pellet guns, slingshot, atlatl, and tomahawk. Scheduled programs are provided from mid-April through October. All equipment is provided. No personal firearms are allowed in the park; however, archery is available year-round with your personal equipment.
