A family-friendly shooting sports complex
The Kearney Outdoor Education Complex is a family-friendly shooting sports complex with a focus on safety and family fun located in Kearney. This 134-acre facility on 60 recreational acres features four trap fields with two overlaying skeet fields and one 5-stand range. The rentable education center is 2900-square-foot, American with Disabilities Act-accessible, offers classroom seating for up to 100 people and includes a full kitchen.
Facility & shotgun range
April 6-May 12: Open weekends from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
*Note: Closed Sat., May 4 & Sat., May 11.
May 13-Sept. 16: Open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sept. 17-Dec. 15: Open weekends from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Rifle range
The rifle range at the Kearney Outdoor Education Complex SRA is owned by the City of Kearney and will be closed on select Mondays throughout the year while the Kearney Police Dept. conducts training. Normal hours of operation coincide with facility hours. Please call ahead of time on Mondays to ensure the rifle range is open.
Non-scheduled hours are available for educational programs, group outings and corporate events. To inquire about events and instruction during non-scheduled hours, email ngpc.koec@nebraska.gov.
Shotgun
- With range equipment: $15 per person for 25 shots
- With personal equipment: $8 per person for 25 shots + $5 per person for 1 round of 25
Rifle
- $5 per half hour (must bring your gun & ammo equipment)
