The Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program (HIP) is a method Nebraska Game and Parks and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) use to generate more reliable estimates of hunting activity, as well as of the numbers of migratory birds harvested throughout the country.
These estimates give biologists the information they need to make sound decisions concerning hunting seasons, bag limits and species management.
Your HIP registration is good for one year and must be obtained annually. A HIP registration is valid from Aug 1- July 31 of the following calendar year.
If you are experiencing problems registering for HIP number, please call 877-634-8687 from Mon. – Fri. from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
