Nebraska State Fair

The 2019 Nebraska State Fair is Aug. 23 – Sept. 2.

The Nebraska State Fair is a longstanding Nebraska tradition that the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has been a part of for decades. Our home in the Nebraska Building draws crowds each year who come to see our 6,000-gallon aquarium filled with fish found in Nebraska waters, indoor archery and pellet gun ranges, kids’ Nerf gun range and a huge diorama of the Niobrara River Valley, as well as information on conservation and research efforts across the state. Outside, a meandering stream, covered picnic area, natural playground, sky fort, mock campsite and beautifully landscaped grounds give fair visitors a place to explore and relax.

Visitors can enjoy the sky fort just outside of the Nebraska Building. The structure is designed for kids and adults of all ages to climb and have fun. Educational and interpretative signage throughout the fort will help people learn about nature and outdoor recreational activities.
