The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offers several online and in-person learn-to-hunt workshops for those who want to learn more about deer, turkey, upland game, waterfowl and small game hunting. These workshops offer information useful to beginning and intermediate hunters.
Learning from an experienced hunter is one of the most effective and enjoyable ways to learn how to hunt. In Nebraska, many organizations offer hunts in which new hunters are paired with experienced hunters.
Learn to hunt community
Hunt Nebraska is a community space for hunting and shooting sports enthusiasts to come together to share information, stories, skills, tips and techniques about hunting in Nebraska. Coordinated by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the community provides videos, workshops, hunting information and reminders, as well as the weekly Hunt Nebraska podcast.
Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, or BOW, offers interactive workshops for women 19-years-old or older with an interest in learning outdoor skills, such as hunting, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, among other outdoor endeavors. Workshops are tailored primarily to women who are new or who are beginners eager to improve their skills.
Join a team of all-female hosts from Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa to learn a little, laugh a lot and be inspired to get outdoors. The She Goes Outdoors Podcast, or SGO, uses the audio platform to educate and entertain female audiences. All outdoor topics are discussed, from fishing to hunting, foraging to Dutch oven cooking, firearms to archery, hiking to camping and everything in between. SGO also offers subscription boxes created to teach new skills, provide educational print resources and access to instructive virtual webinars.
