The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission strives to ensure that recent Hunter Education graduates are able to take the next step and put their new skills to the test, even if they don’t have a friend or relative to be a hunting partner. Mentored youth hunts allow young hunters to do just that.
Recent Hunter Education graduates can choose between two options: Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Mentored Hunts, and the Mentored Youth Archery Program.
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Mentored Hunts
Open to firearm Hunter Education Graduates 11 to 15 years old, these special days are filled with hands-on activities that often include shooting, hunting techniques, conservation, dog handling and the hunt itself – all under the watchful eyes of adult mentors. This program is coordinated by local Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters with events all across Nebraska.
