Whether you are interested in advancing your shooting skills recreationally, competitively or for defense, there is a place for you at the Nebraska Game and Parks Turpin Outdoor Education Center.
Our world-class public shooting range offers 10 indoor lanes reaching 25 yards and is climate-controlled year round. Walk-ins are welcome, or reserve a lane for shooting on your schedule. You can bring your handgun, rifle or pattern shotgun. Our knowledgeable range safety officers are trained to provide exceptional customer service to people from all walks of life and shooting sports experience. Plan your visit today!

For your convenience, the Turpin Outdoor Education Center offers evening and weekend hours at its firearm range. We’re open:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday : Noon – 8 p.m.

Our state-of-the-art indoor firearm range features electronic target retrieval and long benches for rifles and muzzleloaders. Ammunition is subject to inspection (steel core/steel jacketed ammunition is not permitted).
Our Total Shooting Sports Package includes unlimited access to our firearm range, plus our two archery ranges, with no additional general shooting costs.
The Turpin Outdoor Education Center hosts a variety of competition events, including tournaments, leagues and handgun matches. They also offer a variety of programs focused on outdoor skills throughout the year.
The Turpin Outdoor Education Center hosts shooting sports tournaments designed for expert and novice shooters alike.
The Outdoor Education Center hosts umbrella matches for handguns throughout the year. Participants must shoot in two of three available matches and can use a pistol from any manufacturer.
The Outdoor Education Center hosts GSSF Indoor League series throughout the year. Matches follow GSSF’s “original” course of fire for stock, unlimited, rimfire and modular optic system Glock-brand firearms.
The Turpin Center also offers firearm classes and resources for those interested in learning the basics of shooting or who want to hone their skills. View a schedule of all firearm instruction classes.

Ever wanted to learn how to shoot? Want to learn a little bit about rifles? Not sure where to begin? Try Rifle is your place to start!
This safe and first-time friendly program covers basic safety rules, handling demonstrations, and starter techniques. Participants get to shoot on the range as part of this one-hour class. And whether rifle shooting turns out to be your thing or not, students walk away with the ability to be safe and have fun wherever adventure takes them next.
All equipment provided.
Ideal for families, this class is open to both kids (8 and up) and adults.
