Temporary campfire bans
Ongoing drought conditions may results in temporary campfire bans at park areas across the state. As of May 29, 2026, all temporary campfire bans have been lifted.
Areas closed due to wildfires or dry conditions
Outdoor enthusiasts are advised to use extreme caution across the state due to dry conditions and wildfire risk. The following areas are temporarily closed:

Boat ramps
Ongoing drought conditions may result in low water levels at some parks and recreation areas. In some instances, low water levels may affect boat ramp access. See our boating access map for more information.
Fish cleaning stations

Swanson Reservoir SRA – The Macklin fish cleaning station is currently undergoing a motor replacement.
Lake Ogallala SRA – The fish cleaning station at Lake Ogallala SRA is currently undergoing repairs.
Lake McConaughy SRA – The fish cleaning station at Otter Creek campground is currently undergoing repairs.
