Cheyenne State Recreation Area, part of the chain of lakes along Interstate 80, features a 15-acre lake in a 32-acre park near Wood River. The area offers fishing, no-wake boating, camping and picnicking.
The lake at Cheyenne SRA is no-wake, so only electric motor and non-powered boats are permitted. It offers a rock boat ramp.
Anglers can catch bluegill, channel catfish, common carp, crappie and largemouth bass in the 15-acre pit lake.
Cheyenne offers eight picnic tables, six grills and three picnic shelters.
Wood River West Wildlife Management Area is located one mile west of Cheyenne SRA, offering additional fishing opportunities in a 16-acre lake.
