Willow Creek SRA electrical campground to close for upgrade

A major project will temporarily close the electrical campground at Willow Creek State Recreation Area near Pierce from Oct. 5 through Jan. 1, 2027. The campground will have 64 sites upgraded from 30-amp to 50-amp electrical service.

This upgrade will better meet the needs of today’s RVs and campers that require more electrical capacity, providing guests with improved electrical service during their stay.

The project is funded by the Capital Maintenance Fund, which was established by the Nebraska Legislature to help preserve Nebraska’s public outdoor recreation facilities and parklands.
