Make a visit to the Schramm Education Center south of Gretna, where educators have scheduled a variety of engaging events for the curious in June.
The center, located within Schramm Park State Recreation Area, is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and ages 4-12, and free for 3 and under.
A Nebraska Vehicle Park Entry Permit is not required to park in the Schramm Education Center parking lot.

June offerings at Schramm are:
Water the theme for Little Saplings on June 3
Adults looking to explore the outdoors with their young children are invited to Little Saplings, a monthly early childhood nature discovery program.
The 2026 series, which occurs on the first Wednesday of the month, continues June 3 at 9 and 10 a.m. The topic will be Water. The program is designed for children ages 2-5 and their adult caregivers. The cost is $5 per child and $5 per adult.

Schramm Pollinator Party is June 20
Celebrate Nebraska pollinators and their plants at the Schramm Pollinator Party from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 20.
This free event, part of a statewide celebration of Nebraska Pollinator Week, will include activities, science, crafts, a plant sale and fun for all ages.

Schramm Park Treehouse Classroom: Treehouse Time
Visit Schramm Park’s newest facility, the Treehouse Classroom, during Treehouse Time and embrace the importance of unstructured, free play as part of healthy development and well-being.
The summer hours are Mondays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 3 p.m. Closed June 29 and July 6.
The treehouse is a perfect place to sit in a nook with a book, ponder a puzzle, build with loose parts or take in the view of the Canyon Ponds and the Platte River.
Restrooms are open during public hours.
