Two Rivers campground closes due to flooding

Cottonwood Campground at Two Rivers State Recreation Area near Waterloo is temporarily closed due to flooding caused by ice jams along the Platte River.

About 50 sites at the campground are under water. The campground will remain closed until the water has receded.

The National Weather Service issued a flood watch Feb. 4 for lowlands along the Platte, Loup and Elkhorn rivers. That watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon. As ice jams along the rivers move downstream, additional ice jams may develop.
