Portion of Clear Creek WMA closed for mentored hunt

A portion of Clear Creek Wildlife Management Area near Lewellen will be closed to public access from sunrise to sunset on Oct. 18 because of a mentored youth hunt.

The closed area includes everything north of the main channel of the North Platte River.

Space remains for this Ash Hollow Youth Mentored Waterfowl Hunt for youth ages 11-15. Preference is given to hunters who have not participated in the past. Participants must have completed a hunter education course.

The hunt with a Nebraska Game and Parks Commission conservation officer also includes learning stations, lunch, door prizes and raffles. There will be a drawing for a youth lifetime hunt permit.

Register by contacting Tamara Cooper at Ash Hollow State Historical Park at 308-778-7708 or [email protected]. For general inquiries or event questions, contact Jerod Hahn at [email protected].
