New cabins available at Mahoney, Platte River state parks

New cabins will be available for year-to-date reservations at Eugene T. Mahoney and Platte River state parks starting March 25.

Starting at 9 a.m. Central time, bookings will open at Mahoney State Park for three cabins, which are an addition to the existing Governor’s Row cabins. They also will open for two Family Mini Lodge cabins at Platte River State Park.

All five cabins feature four bedrooms, are fully furnished and provide comfortable accommodations. Guests at the new Mahoney cabins will enjoy a basement family room.

The addition of these cabins has been made possible through the generous support of the Acklie Foundation and the Nebraska Game and Parks Venture Parks Initiative.

Final exterior turf seeding and grading currently are underway, with completion anticipated before the start of the 2024 spring growing season.

To make reservations, visit the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website at OutdoorNebraska.gov or contact Mahoney State Park at 402-944-2523 (option 3) and Platte River State Park at 402-234-2217.
