May 17 final day to drop off green debris at Two Rivers SRA

Two Rivers State Recreation Area just west of Omaha will end its collection of green debris from the April 26 tornadoes at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17.

Two Rivers, located off Highway 92 and South 264th Street, was allowing those affected by the recent tornadoes to drop off tree, limb and other green debris. Lumber, drywall, insulation, furniture, appliances and other household waste was not accepted.

Nine tornadoes touched down in Nebraska on April 26, including one in the Lincoln-Waverly area and two in the Omaha metro area. Nebraska Game and Parks state park and recreation areas along the path were spared damage.
