Lied Platte River Bridge closed temporarily

The Lied Platte River Bridge in Cass County will be closed until further notice so debris can be removed, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

Trees have been caught up on the hike/bike trail bridge between South Bend and Platte River State Park due to past rains and high water.

The bridge is expected to be closed until mid-February.

The Lied Bridge is a converted rail-to-trail line that connects Lincoln and Omaha and is jointly maintained and operated by the Papio-Missouri Natural Resources District, the Lower Platte South NRD and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
