Hunters can tune bows at Lewis and Clark event

Bowhunters are invited to prepare for the coming archery season by attending a bow-tuning event Aug. 2 at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area.

This free event, from 10 a.m. to noon, is a chance for shooters to get sighted in for the season and connect with fellow bowhunters and share knowledge and experiences. Nonhunters and youth can learn about the benefits of bowhunting during activities in the afternoon.

Shooters, who must bring their own equipment, will have access to a paper tuner in addition to the targets. Instructors will be available to help make adjustments and tuning recommendations.

The range will consist of a 3D setup with targets from 20-60 yards and will be open to the public through Labor Day.
