Fishing pier to be built at Two Rivers Trout Lake

A fishing pier is being built at the Two Rivers State Recreation Area Lake No. 5 (Trout Lake). To keep the public safe, the construction area will be fenced off before the March 9 opening of the trout lake.

The pier, designed for anglers to fish in deeper water while also providing accessibility to all anglers, is being built in memory of Ted M. Sonderegger of Lincoln, who passed away in 2022. The project was initiated by the family and friends of Sonderegger, who was a longtime angler at the lake.

Project funding is provided by the Ted M. Sonderegger family and friends, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Aquatic Habitat Program, the Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation and Federal Aid in Sportfish Restoration.
