Camping closed at Fremont Lakes SRA

All camping at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area is closed until further notice while improvements take place at two campgrounds.

Work is expected to begin as early as this week on renovations that should continue until late next spring. Signage will be posted in the park for safety.

The improvements at Pathfinder Campground will be a new restroom/shower house, electrical upgrade to 50 amps and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant concrete pads.

At Victory Lake Campground, there will be an electrical upgrade to 50 amps and ADA-compliant concrete pads.

A new dump station also will be part of the renovations.

Funding will come from the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
