Reptile Awareness Month
Nebraska Game and Parks hosts an annual Reptile Art Competition each fall leading up to National Reptile Awareness Day.
Reptile Art Contest
Oct. 1-31, 2024
National Reptile Awareness Day falls on Oct. 21 each year. To celebrate, Nebraska Game and Parks hosts an annual art contest. During October, the public is invited to participate by uploading their Nebraska reptile artwork to our online form. Winners from each grade level, along with adult finalists, will be selected by Game and Parks staff and announced on the Nebraska Wildlife Education Facebook page the first week of November.
Students
Any student in grades K-12 is eligible to participate by entering an original piece of artwork, submitted digitally, featuring a native Nebraska reptile. For example, a student that creates a line drawing can then take a photo of their artwork and upload it below. Each student that submits their art along with the submission form will receive a Reptile-ology magazine.
Adults
NEW in 2024: Adults 18+ who are not enrolled in a K-12 school are also welcome to participate in the Reptile Art Contest! Each adult that submits their artwork will receive a reptile-themed sticker and poster.
