River Relic Cider release party set for Oct. 14

Join Nebraska Game and Parks and Glacial Till Vineyard for the October release party of River Relic Cider, a limited-edition drink that benefits Nebraska wildlife education and conservation.

The party is 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14 at Glacial Till Cider House and Tasting Room, 1419 Silver St., Ashland, and features a papaya hard cider inspired by the endangered pallid sturgeon.

For every six-pack sold — either at the event or at locations where Glacial Till is sold — $1 goes to Game and Parks for wildlife conservation and education efforts across the state.

This free event will include tastings, pallid sturgeon information, opportunities to meet local partners working with Nebraska’s rivers and native fish, and fun ways to learn more about the species.

The pallid sturgeon has been around for millions of years and is right at home in the big, muddy rivers of the Great Plains. The name “River Relic” is a nod to that prehistoric trait and the pallid sturgeon’s connection to Nebraska’s rivers.

River Relic follows last year’s Little Salty and 2024’s SlowPoke cider, a first collaboration and partnership with Glacial Till Vineyards to benefit the local community and the environment.

“We hope this collaboration inspires more Nebraskans to enjoy the outdoors, learn about our native species, and better understand the importance of protecting Nebraska’s rivers and the wildlife that depends on them,” said Monica Macoubrie, Game and Parks fish and wildlife educator who spearheaded this third collaboration. “Partnering with Glacial Till allows us to reach new audiences in creative ways. It’s a perfect example of how conservation and local business can come together to support both nature and Nebraska’s communities.”
