Ladies invited to consider growing hunting community

Women new to hunting who are looking for a supportive environment of like-minded individuals may consider joining the Nebraska Ladies Hunting Cohort.

The cohort is a growing community where women come together to hunt, shoot and learn in a safe, non-competitive environment.

The group meets monthly at the Kearney Outdoor Education Center or Lincoln’s Turpin Outdoor Education Center to learn a hunting-related skill. These include firearm safety, shooting practice, game processing and outdoor navigation. Adult mentored hunts are available for women that participate in cohort learning workshops.

To discover more about the group, ladies may attend the cohort’s Summer Send-Off on Aug. 5 at Oak Creek Sporting Club near Brainard. The event will include shotgun shooting, food and fellowship. Learn more about the event and register at apps.outdoornebraska.gov/BowEvents. Shotguns will be provided.
