Go Ape course closed while rebuilding in 2025

The Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park will be closed in 2025 due to extensive storm damage sustained in late July.

Severe storms caused significant damage to the course’s infrastructure, including platforms and rope elements, requiring major repairs and safety inspections.

In addition to addressing the storm damage, Go Ape will use this time to test and develop an exciting new course adventure, with plans to reopen in summer 2026.

Go Ape is a two- to three-hour journey through the forest canopy via a high-ropes adventure course featuring suspended obstacles, zip lines and incredible views.

Go Ape has been a popular destination at Mahoney State Park since it opened in 2018, offering visitors the opportunity to experience the park from the treetops with ziplines, rope bridges, and challenging obstacles. The upcoming upgrades are expected to enhance the course’s design and increase its capacity to host adventurers of all skill levels.
