Game and Parks offices closed Jan. 9

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission offices and service centers will be closed Jan. 9 to honor the passing of President Jimmy Carter.

Office closures include Lincoln headquarters; Alliance, Kearney, Norfolk and North Platte district offices; and the Bassett and Omaha service centers.

Major state park area attractions and welcome centers will remain open, as will Schramm Education Center near Gretna, Wildcat Hills Nature Center near Gering and the Turpin Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln. Call ahead as hours may vary due to limited staffing. Find contact information at OutdoorNebraska.gov.

Business hours will return to normal Jan. 10.

Jan. 9 was designated as a national day of mourning by the Biden Administration on Dec. 29.

Updated: Jan. 6, 2025, to correct that Schramm Education Center and service center will be open.
