Nebraska Game and Parks wildlife and fisheries biologists host public big game and fisheries meetings across the state each year. These meetings provide the opportunity to learn about current and future wildlife management decisions, as well as the opportunity to hear concerns or feedback from local hunters and anglers.
2023 Fisheries Meetings
Each spring, NGPC fisheries biologists hold public fisheries meetings across the state. Attendees are presented with information on current and future Aquatic Habitat Projects, aquatic invasive species, regulations, and a fishing forecast. Staff then will answer fisheries-related questions.

Elk Management Unit Virtual Meeting
Jan. 17, 2023 at 7 p.m. CST
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking public input on potential changes to elk management unit boundaries. The purpose is to help distribute hunters appropriately and increase elk harvest in areas where increased harvest is desired.
Game and Parks will host a virtual public informational meeting on the proposed elk unit changes: 7 p.m. CST on January 17. The public may give feedback on the plan by commenting during the virtual meeting, using the comment submission form or by emailing luke.meduna@nebraska.gov. The public may comment on the draft through January 30.
Learn more about the proposed changes and submit your comments at OutdoorNebraska.org/ElkPlan.
2022-2023 Big Game Meetings
Hunters and landowners are encouraged to offer their feedback on big game issues during the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s public informational meetings this winter.
The format for the meetings will be slightly different than years past. All in-person meetings will open at 5 p.m. local time. The first hour will be an open house with time to talk with biologists, officers and staff that will be present. At 6 p.m. there will be a short presentation where Biologists will discuss big game harvest results and season structure and take questions on several topics, including big game management, depredation, permits, antlerless harvest, trophy management and diseases, among others. The meetings will last until 8 p.m.
For those who could not attend in-person meetings, Zoom meetings were held on December 15 and January 3 at 7 p.m. Central Time. View the 2023 Virtual Big Game Meeting below.
