Certified Fishing Instructor Network

The Nebraska Game and Parks has trained volunteer fishing instructors for more than 30 years to work with youth, families and communities.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has trained volunteer fishing instructors for more than 30 years. Certification workshops guide instructors to work with youth, families and communities to provide quality fishing opportunities.

Certified Fishing Instructors have access to fishing equipment and educational materials funded through Sportfish Restoration dollars, and they are prepared to teach basic fishing skills such as:

  • Equipment safety and use
  • Casting and knot tying
  • Fish identification
  • Fishing regulations and ethics

Are you passionate about fishing? Register to become a Certified Fishing Instructor with Game and Parks. Requirements for certification include a background check and completion of a 4-hour training workshop.
