Stagecoach State Recreation Area is a 195-acre lake surrounded by 607 acres of land. Stagecoach offers fishing, boating, picnicking and camping.

Attractions

All boats are welcome at Stagecoach State Recreation Area, though a 5-mph speed limit is enforced. There is one boat ramp and one dock.

Anglers will find bluegill, common carp, crappie, largemouth bass, walleye and wiper, among other species. There is a 21-inch minimum length limit on black bass. For wiper, there is a daily bag limit of three with no more than one fish 16 inches or greater. This lake offers a wheelchair-accessible fishing pier.

A 412-acre area is open to hunting in season. Stagecoach offers good opportunity for pheasant, quail and dove, among other species.

Camping

Stagecoach offers 22 camping pads with 20-, 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups, as well as 50 non-pad sites without electricity. Water and vault toilets are available to campers. All campsites at Stagecoach SRA are first come, first serve.

Park Pricing

A park entry permit is required to visit state parks and may be purchased at the park, statewide Game and Parks offices and permit vendors, or in advance of your arrival online. View those fees, as well as attraction and amenity pricing.

Reservations

Reservations are accepted for cabins, lodge rooms, and group lodges up to one year in advance of the arrival date. Reservations for camping are accepted up to 180 days in advance of arrival date. The Reservation Call Center hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. (CT) and closed on holidays.

Our 76 gorgeous state park and recreations areas host a plethora of events throughout the year. From bird hikes to kayak races, Living History events to family outdoor days, our parks host something fun for every outdoor enthusiast.
