Camping reservation service resumes at Fremont Lakes SRA

Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area will again be accepting camping reservations after major upgrades were completed at two of its campgrounds.

Starting at 9 a.m. Central time May 1, guests can make reservations for arrivals between May 12-Oct. 18, the park’s peak season. All areas with reservable campsites become first-come, first-serve sites during nonpeak season.

Reservations can be made at OutdoorNebraska.gov.

More than $2.3 million was invested in Fremont Lake SRA’s Pathfinder and Victory Lake campgrounds, to modernize the park and improve the customer experience.

Upgrades included:

  • Electrical upgrades at 156 campsites;
  • The installation of nine Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant camping pads;
  • A new restroom/shower house at Pathfinder Campground; and
  • Dump station replacement.

Funds were provided by the American Rescue Plan Act and Land and Water Conservation Funds.

Fremont Lakes is one of eastern Nebraska’s most popular recreation areas. Located 3 miles west of Fremont, it is a favorite with campers, picnickers and water enthusiasts who come for great boating, fishing and water skiing.
