Outdoor Education Center Day Camps

The Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln is now enrolling for summer day camps. These fun, activity filled camps are a great way to keep kids entertained during the summer. Day campers will have the opportunity to explore archery, campfire cooking, outdoor games and more! Learn more about each camp and register below.

Wild about Wildlife

Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians and Fish – come enjoy a summer animal experience. Do you know Nebraska’s only marsupial or are you able to call in a frog? Step into the wild to learn unique characteristics of Nebraska’s wildlife species and why they are important to our state. Camp will also include outdoors skills such as archery, shooting, slingshots and more.

Wilderness Awareness Camp – FULL

NOEC_DayCamp3Develop an understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Over the course of the week, campers will have fun learning outdoor survival techniques, campfire and Dutch oven cooking, DIY camping games, exploring the wild, and building archery and shooting skills.

Outdoor Explorers Camp – FULL

Introduce a variety of outdoor activities to youth, from adventures and nature based education to skill development. Participants will select their own path to follow each day based on their age, interests and skill level. Activities include archery, firearms, fishing, kayaking, hiking, survival skills, outdoor cooking, slingshot, wildlife education and crafts.

Learn to Hunt Camp – FULL

In this three day course students will learn the fundamentals of safe and successful hunting including hunting techniques, but not limited to, firearm handling and marksmanship, species identification, treestand safety and conservation principles while completing the requirements for hunter and bowhunter education certification. Students will gain hands-on experience with modern bowhunting equipment, firearms (.22 caliber provided) in our indoor ranges, and shotgunning at the Lincoln’s trap and skeet range. Come ready to learn from our excellent instructors!
